Artwork Requirements

We accept artwork created on macOS or Windows in the following formats:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Quark XPress
  • Other Formats – send us a message

We recommend sending Adobe PDF files. Please note that artwork created on a PC should contain outlined text. Underlines may drop off when text is outlined, please review.

All raster files (such as photographs, TIFF, BMP, PNG, etc) should be submitted in CMYK mode (grayscale if the artwork is black/white) and should have a resolution of at least 300 d.p.i. at printed dimensions when at 100% for a 150 line screen.

Please check your designs, spelling, and punctuation carefully before submitting files. Corrections or modifications made after the proofing stage will incur additional charges.

For jobs we are not formatting, native files AND PDF files are required.

Full Bleeds and Layout

Printed color past the edge of the trim margins is known as bleed.

If your design or background color is intended to cover the entire surface of the page we require a 1/8″ (0.125″) bleed for inserts, or a 1/16” (.0625”) bleed for labels around each edge of the artwork. For an insert example: if you have a 8.5″ x 11″ insert with bleed, you should build your bleed to 8.75″ x 11.25″ as this ensures a 1/8″ bleed around the entire piece.

If providing PDFs for books, please provide them in single page spreads.

Other Considerations

Image mode and resolution are extremely important in ensuring correct color and clarity.

Software programs will automatically convert RGB images to CMYK. This can cause unexpected shifts in color. For optimal results please make your own separations, particularly when color is critical.

Please segregate supporting files such as fonts, graphics, etc by part number. Compressed files preferred.

If providing native files, please include all links and fonts.
